Shraddha Kapoor entered the world of film production, following the footsteps of her father, senior actor Shakti Kapoor. Although she has been successful in making a name for herself and proving her worth, she is grateful to her father for the opportunities that have come her way. In a recent interview, the actress talked about her father’s struggle when he came to Mumbai from Delhi to become a skilled actor.
At the NDTV World Summit 2024, Shraddha Kapoor praised her father and acknowledged his hard work to reach the top as he did not come from a film background. At the event he revealed that Shakti Kapoor would drop by the houses of specific directors where he wanted to work, even though security was not allowing him to go up. “He would dress up according to the role he wanted to play and visit the directors’ homes to convince them. That’s how she got cast,” says the Stree 2 actress, adding that stories like these about her make her keep her head down and be grateful for the opportunities she’s got.
The Half Girlfriend actress also expressed that she feels very happy when people come up to her and tell her that they are big fans of her father. He further told that his father was not from any film family. “He has come from Delhi, this is his home. I spent a large part of my childhood here,” the young star recalled.
The 37-year-old further said that Shakti Kapoor has no background. After telling his parents that he wanted to become an actor, he attended an acting school. Raja Babu actor’s father owned a clothes shop and wanted his son to work in a travel agency. But despite all this, the senior actor followed his heart, which led him to the Indian film industry.
Even today he keeps asking about Shraddha and her shoots. She also consults him before signing any project. “I have a lot of respect for him. He is someone who has created something from nothing,” she said, adding that his stories are always inspiring.
