Indian cinema is scaling new heights at the box office, setting new records with Pushpa 2: The Rule. The last few years have seen many successful Indian films with the biggest openings in domestic markets. In 2024, the Allu Arjun-starrer is topping the charts, followed by Kalki 2898 AD, Devara: Part 1, Stree 2 and others. Indian 2 has also made it to the list, securing the tenth position.

Pushpa 2
Releasing on December 5, 2024, Pushpa 2: The Rule is headed to earn over Rs 1350 crore in India in its full run. On the first day, the Allu Arjun-starrer touched the Rs 188 crore mark in India, which also included paid previews worth Rs 12 crore. The only film that can challenge the opening collections of Pushpa 2 in the near future is War 2.
Kalki 2898 AD
Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2989 AD stars Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and others. This science fiction action film, released on June 27, earned Rs 101 crore on the first day in India. It is the second biggest opener in the country this year.
Devra: Part 1
The film Devara: Part 1, directed by Koratala Siva, was released on 27 September. Starring Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, the Telugu action drama film grossed Rs 88 crore on its first day of release in India. The first part of the Devara series is in third place.

Stree’s sequel Stree 2 was headlined by Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. It became the highest-grossing horror comedy film of all time. Directed by Amar Kaushik, this film emerged as the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. It collected a total of Rs 74.50 crore including paid previews. Stree 2 is now at fourth place in this list.
