Introduction

Xiaomi 14T looks like a flagship killer these days. It is a premium smartphone with great features like display, performance and camera, but without extra value-adding unnecessary tricks.

The new Xiaomi 14T features a refined, flat design, which is still IP68-rated as the 13T. Another thing that is the same is the 6.67-inch CrystalRece OLED screen with 1220p resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, 12-bit color depth, and Dolby Vision certification. The only screen improvement is a 4,000 nits maximum brightness as per the official specifications.

The Xiaomi 14T has an upgraded chipset, now the Dimensity 8300-Ultra, with a new and more powerful CPU, better graphics and faster UFS 4.0 storage.

The Xiaomi 14T will feature a highly promoted Leica camera and as always, it is its most important feature. There are still three cameras on the back including a new 50MP primary, a 50MP 2x telephoto, and a 12MP ultrawide imager. It has a lot of neat video-capturing features like Bokeh and Rack Focus.

The Xiaomi 14T boots the latest Android and HyperOS with a bunch of AI tricks, including Gemini. The phone has a 5,000 mAh battery that supports up to 67W fast wired charging.

Xiaomi 14T review

The Xiaomi 14T isn’t a huge improvement over the Xiaomi 13T – sure, it has a slightly more powerful and newer chip and a more modern sensor for the primary camera, but that’s about it. That doesn’t mean it’s not one of the most interesting devices on the market right now. I wish it had a better selfie camera, but it seems Xiaomi is still up to its old tricks.

Unboxing the Xiaomi 14T

The Xiaomi 14T comes in a thinner box than usual, and our suspicions turned out to be correct – there’s no charger inside!

You get a black silicone case, a USB-AC cable, and a slim folio with the display already mounted.

Xiaomi was one of the last bastions of the “always ship with a charger” slogan, and it looks like that’s over now.
