Sivakarthikeyan had earlier announced that director Ammamuthu Suryah will direct his next production venture. Now it looks like this film could be a remake of the popular Kannada comedy Hostel Hudugaru Bekagidre.
Sivakarthikeyan to remake Kannada film Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare?
According to Valai Pechu, Sivakarthikeyan’s next project under the banner of Sivakarthikeyan Productions is expected to be a remake of the Kannada black comedy film Hostel Hudugaru Bekagidre directed by Nithin Krishnamurthy.
The film is based on a group of students who become suspects in the death of their hostel warden. Confused about what to do with the body, they band together to dispose of it before it is too late. The rest of the film explores the chaotic night they endure and whether they survive it.
The black comedy stars Prajwal BP, Manjunath Nayak, Rakesh Rajkumar, Srivatsa Shyam, Tejas Jayanna Urs, Shreyas Sharma and Bharat Vashishtha in the role of Kashi. Apart from the lead cast, the film also featured cameo roles from Ramya, Rishabh Shetty, Pawan Kumar, Shine Shetty and Diganth.
Interestingly, the Kannada film was partially re-shot and released in Telugu as Boys Hostel. In the Telugu version, Ramya and Diganth were replaced by Rashmi Gautam and Tharun Bhaskar respectively.
Despite being unconfirmed, the film, directed by Ammamuthu Surya, is expected to feature a cameo role originally played by Sivakarthikeyan. Rishabh Shetty In Kannada version.
Sivakarthikeyan’s work front
Sivakarthikeyan She was last seen in the lead role in Parashakti directed by Sudha Kongara. The film is a period political drama based in 1960s Tamil Nadu. Apart from him, Ravi Mohan, Srileela and Atharva Murali are also in lead roles. It is currently available for streaming on ZEE5.
Looking ahead, Sivakarthikeyan will lead the film Seyon, directed by Sivakumar Murugesan. The rural entertainer film is being produced by Kamal Haasan under the banner of Raj Kamal Films International (RKFI), and its teaser was released recently. Reports also suggest that Bhagyashree Borse is in talks to play the co-lead role.
Apart from this, Sivakarthikeyan is also set to collaborate with Venkat Prabhu on another upcoming project.
