Actor Sonu Sood faced criticism after recently surfaced of a video, showing him riding a bike in the Speti Valley without a helmet or proper safety gear, considering taking action by the local police. In response to backlash, Sonu clarified that the footage was from a scripted scene. The controversy intensified as the incident occurred soon after Sonu promoted road safety, and given that his wife suffered injuries in a car accidents earlier this year, making the situation more sensitive.
On Tuesday, Sonu Sood took X to X, earlier known as Twitter, to address the controversy around the video riding a bike without a helmet. The video attracted everyone’s attention and held extensive discussion.
He explained that the footage was old and was part of a scripted scene, not a real phenomenon. To showcase his commitment to security, Sonu also shared a new video of herself while riding a bike wearing a helmet.
While sharing the video, Sonu wrote, “Security first. (Helmet emoji). We always follow the laws, an old clip without a helmet was a part of our script. So please ignore. Please ignore. Get safe rides. Always ride a smart ride. Always wear a helmet,” he said.

An Instagram page shared several videos of Sonu’s speech trip, in which her clip bike rides shirtless and wears black glasses. The footage features Sonu Biking through snow -covered mountains with a group of riders, not wearing shorts, sunglasses and any shirts.
In response to comprehensive online criticism, the Speti Valley Police announced on X that they would initiate legal action against Sonu.
The Speti Police issued a statement on X in which it was announced that they would take action against Sonu. His message said, “A video is going viral on social media, which shows a Bollywood actor violating traffic rules in the Lahol-SpT district. According to preliminary information, the video appears to be from the year 2023.”
Spity police said that the responsibility of verifying the authenticity of the video has been entrusted to the DSP Headquarters in Kylang.
He said that the district police will take any necessary legal action based on the findings of the investigation. In addition, the district police of Lahaul-SIT urged all residents and tourists to follow traffic rules and maintain disciplined and responsible behavior.
