Tom Troop, an experienced actor who is known for his roles in Cheers, Star Trek and more than 75 television series, died at the age of 97. Just five days after his birthday, he died on Sunday morning in his house in Beverly Hills. His death due to natural causes was confirmed by his public relations representatives.
An experienced actor on stage and screen
Born on July 15, 1928 in Canasus City, Missouri, Tom Troop began his acting journey in the local theater before he shifted to New York City in 1948. He studied at Herbert Bergof Studio under the guidance of UTA Hegan, received a scholarship. He later served in the Korean War, where he was awarded the Bronze Star as per diversity.
Troop launched her broadway in 1957 as Peter Van Dan in Anne Frank’s diary, performing with Joseph Shirdkrat. A year later, he shifted to Los Angeles and began producing a vipul career in television and film.
During the 1960s to the 1990s, Troop appeared in several prestigious TV shows. His remarkable credits include Star Trek, The Fusitive, Mission: Impossible, The Wild, Wild West, Mary Heartman, Cagney & Lacey, Chips, Notes Landing, Murder, He wrote, Cheers, Frasier and Archie Bunker Place. His presence on the screen brought a reliable attraction and professionalism for both guest roles and recurring appearances.

Troop also acted in big films, including Big Fisherman, The Devils Brigade, Kelly’s Heroes, Summer School and my own personal Idaho.
In the theater, he often performed in stage productions such as his wife, Carol Cook, The Guin Game, The Lion in Winter and Father’s Day. He visited the same time with Barbara Rush the next year and appeared on Broadway in a romantic comedy with Mia Fero. One of his individual projects included One-Man Play the Diary of a Madman, which he co-shaped.
Trupe was married to actress Carol Cook until he passed in 2023 at the age of 98. The couple was widely praised for their decades long relationship. He is alive by his son, Christopher Troop; Bahu, Becky Culter; Granddaughter, Ashley Troop; And many nieces and nephews.
