While you wait for GTA VI, Rockstar has made a special edition of Red Dead Redemption, here’s when you can play it

Rockstar is postponing GTA VI, but fans can look forward to Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare coming to Netflix, iOS, Android, PS5, Xbox Series S and Nintendo Switch 2 on December 2, which includes free upgrades, progress transfer and technical enhancements.

GTA VI may be delayed once again to November 2026, but Rockstar Games still has something special in store. The company has announced that it is bringing Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare to smartphones and current generation consoles. More players will finally get the chance to be a part of John Marston’s intense story and Undead Nightmare’s distinctive zombie-horror experience.

Play Red Dead Redemption on Android and iOS with Netflix

Rockstar Games announced on their website that Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare will be making their debut on smartphones in collaboration with Netflix. Netflix subscribers on Android and iOS will get to play both games for free. The games come with mobile-friendly controls, providing a full console-like gaming experience. It also allows Rockstar Games to enter the market of smartphone users.

Both games will include the full single-player content and bonus features from the Game of the Year edition. Set shortly after the events of Red Dead Redemption 2, the main story follows John Marston’s attempt to overcome his violent past while the Undead Nightmare transforms the frontier into a fight for survival against a zombie plague. These additions ensure that longtime fans and new players alike can experience the breadth of content available on older hardware.

Rockstar Games will finally be getting additional features like DLSS and mouse controls for the current generation consoles – PS5, Xbox Series Nintendo Switch 2 owners.

Rockstar is offering a free digital upgrade to owners of the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, or digital Xbox One versions. Existing PS4 players can transfer their save data to continue their progress on PlayStation 5, while Nintendo Switch 2 users will also be able to pick up where they left off on their previous Switch console.

These new versions are being developed in collaboration with Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games. Additionally, the updated titles will be included in the GTA+ games library and PlayStation Plus game catalog, further expanding their availability to a subscription-based audience on console platforms.

When will Red Dead Redemption launch on Android, iOS, and current generation consoles?

Rockstar will release Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare on December 2nd on all platforms, including Android and iOS.
