Actor-director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michelle Singer, were found dead at their Los Angeles home on Sunday afternoon, as initially reported by TMZ. Although the identities of the two bodies discovered were originally unknown, it was later confirmed that they were both in fact the homeowners as police began investigating the cause.

As rumors continue to spread about who those found were, a confirmation was received. A statement from the couple’s family confirming their deaths to Variety read, “It is with the utmost sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Michelle and Rob Reiner. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this incredibly difficult time.”
Later, friend Norman Lear and family, who greatly respected Rainer, shared a note mourning his passing. “The Lear family is devastated by the death of Rob and Michelle Renner. Norman often referred to Rob as a son, and their close relationship was extraordinary to us and the world. Norman wanted to remind us that Rob and Michelle spent every breath of their life trying to make this country a better place, and they carried that forward through their art, their activism, their philanthropy, and their love for family and friends. Lynn Lear had been very close to them and He said, ‘The world has definitely become darker tonight, and we are left bereft.’"
It is reported that the LA Fire Department received a medical emergency call at around 3:30 pm on December 14. A 78-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman were found dead at the scene, their identities were unconfirmed at the time. Sources later confirmed that it was indeed Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle. People shared that his son Nick is being questioned as the prime suspect, being considered for possible murder. Although no one has been detained yet, it is being said that the authorities are currently investigating. There are also reports claiming that it was his daughter Romi who first spotted the two bodies in his house.
