WhatsApp has introduced several new features for iOS users with the rollout of its latest update version number 24.25.93. The latest update is live on the App Store and if you are an iOS user, you can download it. With the new update, WhatsApp now offers tools that make it more attractive and practical, especially for those who like to use the camera or share documents frequently.
One of the standout features in this update is the addition of AR (augmented reality) effects. When using the camera within WhatsApp, users will now see a new image wand icon next to the Gallery button in the viewfinder. This opens up a variety of AR effects that can be applied to photos and videos. Whether it’s adding playful confetti, magical sparkles, or even creating the illusion of being underwater, these effects bring a creative twist to your captures. Other available effects include starry windows, teardrops, and even a karaoke mode for fun, music-themed content.
Apart from AR effects, WhatsApp has also introduced new backgrounds that can be applied during video recording. These backgrounds are designed to obscure the user’s surroundings, provide more privacy, or simply create a different mood for the video. Additionally, the app now lets users adjust the color tone of their videos, allowing for subtle changes to make your footage look perfect.
Another handy feature in this update is the document scanning option, which is now integrated into the file-sharing menu. When you open the document-sharing window, you’ll find a new option labeled “Scan Document.” This feature is incredibly useful for those who need to quickly digitize physical documents. Once you capture an image of the document, the app automatically crops the edges for a clean look. It also offers options to adjust the image using filters like color, grayscale, and black-and-white. For added convenience, there’s an auto-shutter mode that automatically captures the document when it’s perfectly aligned in the frame. Users can also adjust the limits manually if necessary.
These new tools come shortly after WhatsApp rolled out a series of festive updates to enhance video calls and messages ahead of New Year celebrations. Users can enjoy new animations, stickers, and even themed calling effects that reflect the joy of the season.
