Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo starrer Wicked has taken the internet by storm. As the film gets closer to its release date, Grande revealed that she has poured her personal feelings into the character of Glinda, who she is set to play on the big screen.
In conversation with BBC News, the actress shared that her experience of losing a loved one helped her portray the character with more conviction.
In Wicked, Grande will share screen space with Erivo, Jeff Goldblum, Ethan Slater, Jonathan Bailey, and Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeoh.
Speaking to the news portal, the actress-singer shared, “Losing someone you love is something unfortunately we all have had to experience – and sometimes we get the privilege of saying goodbye and sometimes- Never us.”
Meanwhile, in her personal life, Grande survived major tragedies that had an impact on her. In 2017, the singer was safely evacuated from her Manchester concert after a bombing.
While the actress was recovering from the incident, her then-boyfriend Mac Miller died a year later.

In addition to adding her personal touch to the character, Grande revealed that playing Glinda had been her dream since she first saw the Broadway musical as a child.
The Swindle actress claimed that being on the set of Wicked was a “homecoming experience” for her.
Speaking to the media portal, the 25-year-old said, “This music has always been so relaxing and now to be able to spend time with it and rely on it is the privilege of a lifetime.”
Plus, he talked about his experience working with Cynthia Erivo. “From the moment we were cast, Cynthia invited me over and we hung out for five hours and we laughed, we cried and got to know each other,” the actress revealed.
She added, “We had real conversations from the beginning about creating a safe space for each other and being honest with each other.”
Wicked is the story of the unique bond of friendship between Glinda and Elphaba. However, their friendship is tested with the entry of the Wizard of Oz. This film is going to be released in theaters on 22 November.
