Usha Vance to Ivanka Trump: Monotone magic wins Inauguration Day fashion
Inauguration Day saw many stylish moments, including monotone looks from Usha Vance and Ivanka Trump.
There was a monotone mood in terms of fashion at the Capitol Rotunda in Washington DC on January 20, which witnessed Donald Trump’s Inauguration Day. Usha Vance, Jill Biden and Ivanka Trump championed the monochromatic look with their elegant ensembles.
Usha Vance made a stylish appearance on Inauguration Day, where her husband JD Vance was sworn in as Vice President of the United States.
America’s second lady, Usha Vance, kept it warm and stylish in a pink Oscar de la Renta ensemble — a custom cashmere coat with a matching scarf. She completed her look with statement floral earrings and blush-toned suede boots that complemented the subtle palette of her outfit. She also wore matching gloves and carried a small clutch in a neutral shade.
She had her hair tied in a sleek bun and wore very minimal makeup.
Usha, who says her origin is from Andhra Pradesh, was born in California. She attended Yale Law School, where she met JD Vance in 2013. The couple married in 2014 after she graduated from Yale Law School, and have three children.
An accomplished trial lawyer who has worked at Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP in San Francisco and Washington, DC, Usha has played a key role in her husband’s political journey.
Ahead of Inauguration Day, Usha made a fashion statement in a stunning strapless gown while hosting a special dinner at the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC with her husband JD Vance.
She wore a custom-made Oscar de la Renta gown, which featured a sweetheart neckline and dazzling floral embellishments.
Inauguration Day saw many fashionable moments, including First Lady Melania Trump’s sharp and edgy look in a tailored coat, skirt and blouse set with a statement hat. Her outfit was an American mix, as it was from New York-based designers Adam Lipps (dress) and Eric Javits (hat). However, she killed the entire dull appeal by adding a subtle pop of white to her outfit.
Ivanka Trump chose a monotone look for Donald Trump’s swearing-in ceremony. She cut a beautiful picture in a forest green pencil skirt with an asymmetrical jacket. A sleek black belt, green hat and black heels were her choices to complete the look.
Former first lady Jill Biden also made a strong sartorial statement in a purple-blue Ralph Lauren dress.
She sported a monotone look in a belted overcoat, gloves and heels – all in the same purple-blue shade.
