US airstrikes on Iranian military targets: ‘Vigilant, lethal and ready’: US launches fresh strikes on 10 Iranian military targets – Video

The video was released hours after the US military announced a new attack on Iran

US Central Command (CENTCOM) on Sunday shared a video showing US air and naval strikes on Iranian military targets, saying the operation was carried out in response to Iran’s latest drone attack on a commercial oil tanker near the Strait of Hormuz.“U.S. Navy and Air Force combat aircraft tonight struck 10 Iranian military targets at multiple locations in and around the Strait of Hormuz in response to Iran’s drone strike on the M/T Kiku,” CENTCOM said, posting footage on social media. The video was released hours after the US military announced fresh strikes on Iran, saying the action was ordered by President Donald Trump, another violation of the ceasefire agreement.

America says attacks were carried out after attack on oil tanker

Earlier on Sunday, CENTCOM said US forces had carried out additional strikes after Iran launched a unilateral attack drone that struck the Panama-flagged oil tanker M/T Kiku at 4:30 a.m. ET as it was passing through the Strait of Hormuz carrying more than two million barrels of crude oil.“Following yesterday’s U.S. strikes in response to the Iranian attack on the M/V Ever Lovely, Iran was given the opportunity to honor the ceasefire agreement, but did not do so,” CENTCOM said.According to the US military, the retaliation targeted Iranian military surveillance infrastructure, communications systems, air defense sites, drone storage facilities, and minelayer capabilities.“Commercial ship traffic continues through the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. forces remain alert, lethal, and ready,” the statement said.

Tension increasing despite ceasefire

The latest attacks mark a further escalation despite an interim ceasefire agreement between Washington and Tehran aimed at ending hostilities.President Donald Trump also confirmed the operation on social media, saying that the US “has again struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations and coastal radar sites in violation of the ceasefire agreement!” He warned that Washington would eventually be “forced to finish the job militarily” if Iran continued its actions.Iranian state television reported explosions in an area north of the strategic waterway following the attacks. The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most important energy corridors, carrying a significant share of global oil exports. The latest attacks have raised concerns over maritime security, as the US and Iran continue talks aimed at reaching a comprehensive agreement on shipping, regional security and Tehran’s nuclear programme.
