Nani’s 2019 Sports Drama Jersey is still one of her most prestigious performances. The actor gave a path-breaking performance under the direction of Gautam Tinnuri, which earned wide appreciation equally from both fans and critics. As Jersey completes six years after its release today, let’s take a look at Nani’s response that the film is being remake in Hindi.
For Anward, the director remake Jersey as a Hindi-language film, which is two years after the Telugu release. The Bollywood version starred Shahid Kapoor in the lead role. Around the same time, Nani today opened up in an interview with India Today, how he liked his film about remake in another language.
The actor insisted that he can never let his version of Jersey go, no matter what. However, since it was the same director who was re -writing the story without any significant change, he was expecting a similar reception from the Hindi -speaking audience.
He said, “I could not let my version of Jersey go. If someone had just changed the head of the actor with the other, it would bother me. But here, the story is being retained by the same director, Govatam Tinnuri. There is a lot of heart due to the gate in Jersey – the way he has written the script.
Nani claimed that Jersey will always remain her film and is very close to her heart. But now that it was being remake, he was eager to see the last output, which would help him reflect any shortcomings in his version.
Talking about separating from the film as an audience member, Nani said, “So, the story will be a spirit where I see myself and say, ‘Hey, you did not do it right.’ I wanted to experience the story like an audience.
In addition to Nani, coming back to the original version of Jersey, the film also starred Shraddha Srinath, Ronit Kamra, Satyaraj, Vishwant Dudampudi, Sampat Raj and others.
Written and directed by Godham Tinnuri, the film was produced by Naga Vamsi. Anirudh Ravichandar composed the music score for the film.
