The Tamil Mystery Crime thriller The Smile Man was dramatically released on 27 December 2024. The film left a weak impression at the box office and was tagged as another common serial-killer story. However, the film is now ready to make its way for OTT for another chance on the audience’s response.

The OTT veteran shared a poster of the film as the film joins a host of other films as the latest addition for online streaming.

The plot of the film becomes an unusual police story, where the hero, a police officer, knows Alzheimer’s disease. He has been tasked to solve the last case before losing all his memories.
As in luck, the final case under his care is of a serial killer on loose in Coimbatore, whose unique identity is to leave an unusual smiley face mark on the faces of the victims.
The investigation intensifies and becomes more complicated as the officer’s memories begin to give way, and they are left to listen to recording continuously from every step of their way.
With quite fast clicking over time, the police are left to make a difficult choice on each passing step and lose the culprit, before he loses all this.

The film is written by Kamala Alchemis and directed by the pair of filmmakers Simam and Praveen. It is jointly produced by KA Film Company and Magnum films.
