Actor and director John Krasinski has been named People Magazine’s Sexiest Man for 2024. The star of The Office and A Quiet Place shared his initial reaction to the accolade with his trademark humor, calling it a moment of “complete surrealism.”

“No, it’s not a dream,” Krasinski joked. “Just an immediate blackout. Actually, the brain itself shut down. No other thoughts other than maybe I’m being bullied. After that, it was just, yes, a complete surrealism.

Reflecting on the surprise, he said, “This is not how I wake up, usually, thinking, ‘Is this the day I’m going to be asked to be the Sexiest Man Alive?’ And yet, that was the day. You guys really raised the bar for me.”

Krasinski shared that his wife, actor Emily Blunt, was thrilled for him, too.

“I told Emily, and she was so excited. There was a lot of joy involved, but I guess it would just make me do more housework,” he laughed. “But to be honest, I am ready to accept the losses along with the gains. I think once the cover comes out, she’ll say, ‘Okay, this means you’re really going to earn it on the house,'” he said.

Krasinski also spoke about how his brothers could be left in disbelief. “My brother will probably wonder how that’s possible in years to come,” the Quiet Place actor said.

Last year. Patrick Dempsey was declared The Sexiest Man Alive, while Chris Evans was awarded the title in 2022.
