Some of the flagships launched in 2025 were significantly more expensive than their predecessors, and the story will be no different with phones launching this year, due to rising component costs, among other factors. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 series was also expected to see a price hike, but if the latest rumor coming from South Korea is to be believed, that won’t be the case.
A South Korean publication reports that Samsung has decided to launch the Galaxy S26 series at the same price as the Galaxy S25 lineup to avoid losing market share to Apple and other Chinese smartphone companies.
However, this price freeze only applies to the US; Prices may be higher in other markets, including Samsung’s home country, South Korea.

The base models of the Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra were launched in the US for $799, $999 and $1,299 respectively. The base versions of the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra are expected to be priced the same.

That said, it’s not just the Galaxy S26 lineup that’s getting a price cut; The Galaxy Z Fold8 and Flip8 will also be priced the same as their predecessors.
While Samsung has decided to freeze the pricing of its premium smartphones this year, some Galaxy A series models will launch with increased prices.
There’s no word from Samsung regarding the launch of the Galaxy S26 series and foldables, but South Korean media report that the S26 lineup will be unveiled on February 25 in San Francisco, US, while the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Flip8 will go official in July.
