Thandel starring Naga Chaitanya in the lead role hit a big screen on 7 February 2025. After its dramatic run and OTT debut, the film made history in television, making a record in the TRP number.
Thhandel watches in second largest record in TRP
Taking the X (east Twitter) handle, Thandel makers confirmed that the film had become a sensation after its television premiere. The film is said to have seen in the TRP of 10.32, making the channel the second largest record of 2025 in Zee Telugu.

A Gallet’s report states that in 2025, only 3 Telugu films managed to cross double points in TRP. Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 (Star Ma) came in second place with Venkatesh Daggubati’s Sankranti Vastunam, then by Thandel.
Interestingly, Shankrantiki Vastunnam also premiered on Zee Telugu, making it the highest record in TRP on the channel, the thhandel behind it was closed.

There was a story of Raju in Thandel, a brave fisherman who accidentally enters Pakistani water. The film focuses on man’s passion and truth for fishing, also known as Bujji Thali. Interestingly, it was based on a real incident tolerated by a person from Srikakulam.
Apart from tea, the film featured Sai Pallavi, Auduklam Naren, Divya Pillai, Karunakaran, Kalpa Lata, Bablu Prithviege, and many more in many other major parts. It is available for streaming on Netflix.
Naga Chaitanya’s next film
Naga Chaitanya is the next set to appear in the lead role for the film, which is temporarily given the title NC24. It is one of the highest budget films ever in tea career. His character will be seen in a new avatar and is expected to be quite different from his other films.
The upcoming film has been starred by Virupashka and Karthikeya director Karthik Verma Dandu with the story of Sukumar. Since the film is controlled by BVSN Prasad, Sukumar, and Bapineedu, it will feature cinematography handled by Ragul Dharuman.
