Thalapathy Vijay and his wife Sangeetha Sornalingam recently made headlines after reports suggested that the couple might be headed towards divorce. After almost 27 years of marriage, the superstar may reportedly part ways with his wife.

1. When Vijay called his wife ‘sensible’
While talking to Indian Express recently, Thalapathy Vijay Revealed that before their marriage, Sangeeta used to make grand romantic gestures for him. However, after their marriage, such gestures became less frequent due to his lack of response. The actor said, “But even now, she has gifted me cars and things like that… She is very understanding, and that is very important. If a film flops, she supports me and tells me not to feel bad.”
2. Vijay says Sangeeta plays the ‘biggest’ role in his life
In another old interview, Vijay was asked why he decided to marry Sangeeta. He replied, “She is very understanding, that’s the main reason. She gives honest feedback after the release of each of my films. Her feedback is often on point and plays the biggest role in my life.”
3. Vijay remembers describing Sangeeta as a ‘good’ girl to his father
In a throwback interview, leo Recalling his early days, the actor said, “I invited her to my house and my father liked her. When he said he wanted to talk to me, I got worried. But he asked about Sangeeta, and I said she was a nice girl. ‘Why are you asking?’ Then he asked if I wanted to get married. I was surprised and asked for some time. Later, our families met and we got engaged.”
4. Meeting Sangeeta for the first time
While Vijay has kept his personal life largely private, he once revealed that Sangeeta was initially a fan of his. The two first met on the sets of Love Today (1997).
5. Vijay calls his wife a ‘tough critic’
In an interview with Nelson Dilipkumar before the release of Beast, Vijay described his wife Sangeeta As a “harsh critic”, explaining how she closely follows and evaluates his work.
