Surya’s Kanguva gets cuts after negative feedback, loud audio issues resolved
The makers of Suriya’s Kanguva have cut around 12 minutes of footage from the film after receiving negative response. The film was also criticized for its loud audio, which has now been fixed.
Suriya and director Siva’s Kanguva was cut by about 12 minutes after receiving criticism regarding the script and high decibel audio. The film has received a lukewarm response from critics and audiences since its theatrical release on November 14. Producer KE Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green acknowledged the audio issues in a conversation with Telugu media and promised to reduce the volume by two points. ,
According to a post by trade analyst Sridhar Pillai on X, 12 minutes of footage from Kanguva has been removed. The current parts of Kanguwa received the most criticism and most of the scenes in this episode were removed.
Earlier the runtime of Kanguva was 2 hours 34 minutes. The runtime of the abridged version is 2 hours and 22 minutes.

The re-censored trimmed version of Kangwa will start running in theaters today (November 19) or tomorrow (November 20).
On 17 November, Jyothika defended Kanguva and acknowledged the issues. He wrote, “Definitely the first 1/2 hour doesn’t work and the sound is crackling! Flaws are part of most Indian films, so it’s fair, especially in a film like this that involves massive experimentation! N This is just the first 1/2 hour of the full 3 hours.”
He then called Kanguva a cinematic spectacle and expressed his views on seeing the negative reviews. He alleged a planned propaganda against the film.
