After raking in Rs 292.00 crore in its opening week, Stree 2 starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao has managed to hold its own in the second weekend as well. As per early estimates, the Amar Kaushik-directed horror comedy has raked in Rs 95.50 crore in its second weekend, taking the total collection to Rs 387.50 crore in 11 days.
After collecting Rs 18.50 crore on its second Friday, Stree 2 created an all-time record by collecting Rs 33.00 crore and Rs 44.00 crore (estimated) on its second Saturday and Sunday respectively. The Dinesh Vijan production will enter the Rs 400 crore club on Monday and aim to surpass the lifetime collections of KGF 2 by Tuesday and begin its journey towards the Rs 500 crore club. The film will also try to create an all-time record by collecting the highest ever in its second week.
Stree 2 is now on its way to surpassing Jawaan’s collections to become the highest grossing film of the Hindi film industry and if the 11-day trend is anything to go by, the horror comedy is heading towards a lifetime total of around Rs 575 crore. This also means that Stree 2 will try to surpass the lifetime business of Animal, Baahubali 2, Pathan and Gadar 2 by the end of the fourth week and then move towards the total collection of Jawaan.
Monday and Tuesday are partial holidays, which are expected to boost business further, and it is the second Wednesday that will give us an idea about the gas left in the tank for Stree 2. The horror comedy has a clear run till September 27, and there is a high possibility that the film will achieve a result that will remain unchallenged for at least a year. The film is an all-time blockbuster, and will have the biggest ROI for any film in the Rs 500 crore club.
