Known for her outspoken nature, Shraddha Kapoor never shies away from sharing her views. With a solid presence in Bollywood and several hit films including the recent Stree 2, the actress recently addressed the topic of pay parity in the film industry. He expressed optimism about the gradual change taking place and reflected on the rising remuneration of major stars over the years. He mentioned that the decision about what would best support the production of a film and ensure that it is made as intended ultimately depends on the producers.
At a recent launch event, Shraddha Kapoor reflected on the transformation of the film industry since her debut with Teen Patti in 2010. He acknowledged that their earnings have increased significantly over the past 14 years, while noting however that pay gaps still exist. There are signs of progress towards bridging this.
The actress also talked about the increasing remuneration of top stars and said that these options are in the hands of the producers. He explained that producers make decisions based on what will benefit the production of the film and go by their vision. According to him, some manufacturers have a visionary approach, understanding the future trajectory of the industry, while acknowledging that there is no standard approach that everyone follows.
He said, “Whatever is going to work positively in the making of the film, the way it should be made, the makers have to take these decisions. This is his point of view. I think there are some people who have a long-term vision and know exactly where the industry is headed. There is no uniform approach that everyone is following.”
On the professional front, Shraddha Kapoor, one of the most followed Indian celebrities globally and daughter of veteran actor Shakti Kapoor, has had a remarkable career since her debut with Teen Patti a decade ago. Over the years, he has given many memorable films, including Aashiqui 2, Ek Villain, Half Girlfriend, Chhichhore, ABCD 2, Street Dancer 3D and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar.
Her latest release, Stree 2, marked an important milestone in her career. This horror-comedy sequel to the 2018 hit Stree became one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time, earning over Rs 800 crore at the box office. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film reunited the original cast.
