Shah Rukh Khan has been working as an actor for the past three decades. During his career, the actor has won 300 awards, he revealed during a recent conversation. To keep all his awards safe, Shah Rukh doesn’t have a trophy room. Instead, he has a library that is designed like an “English library”.

Shah Rukh, who recently won the prestigious Pardo alla Carriera award for his contribution to cinema at the 77th Locarno Film Festival, spoke to IANS. The Guardian and asked if he has a special cabinet in his home to keep his awards.

“Yes, it is bigger than this room! I have 300 awards. I have a nine-floor office and on every floor I have some of my awards. Actually, it is not a trophy room. It is a library designed like an English library,” the 55-year-old actor said.

Shah Rukh also said that he loves winning awards. “I enjoy it. I’m quite shameless about it! I love getting awards. I love the ceremony. I get a bit nervous if I have to give a speech,” he said. “I have to be on my best behaviour. I have to control my sense of humour. Because cinema is a very important thing for India,” Shah Rukh said.

Although Shah Rukh has received many honours, the actor is yet to receive a National Film Award. Talking about this, the actor once said, “If I didn’t get it, I didn’t deserve it. I don’t think any of my performances till now should get a National Award.” However, he joked that he hasn’t received any National Award yet because he will retire after receiving one.

Shah Rukh Khan made his Bollywood debut with the 1992 film Deewana, which also starred Rishi Kapoor in the lead role.
