Android headlines The report comes from the internal beta version of a UI8, which detected a code string that mentions both the internal codenames and Snapdragon 8 elite chip of the trin-fold. While many people hoped that Samsung to go with Qualcomm for this phone, confirmation is still notable, as it shows that the company is planning to give a TRAI-folded True Flagship-level performance.
The internal codename for three-folded phones is Q7M, and that name was seen within a UI 8 system files with Snapdragon 8 Elite Model Number- SM8750-. This suggests that the phone is being actively tested on the latest version of Android, which is Android 16, and will possibly launch Samsung’s new one UI8 with skin. Given that Samsung now promises seven years software and security updates for its top-ending equipment, it is appropriate to expect the same for Tri-Gunna.
The name Galaxy Z Trifold was also recently filed by Samsung as a trademark, which has speculated about what the last name of the product could be. While some feel that it may not be the final branding, it is clearly one of the options that the company is considering. Either way, the tri-folds are expected to be a big step in the foldable phone design, with a form factor that uses two hinges and opens to reveal a 10-inch large screen.
Unlike Huawei’s outward-folding approach with the Met X series, Samsung is expected to place the foldable display inside, which should offer better durability. A small cover display will sit outwards for the use of regular phones, while the large interior screen will appear like a tablet. The initial leak suggests that the phone will also include three rear cameras, although the exact camera specs remain under the raps for now.
This Samsung Tri-Gun phone is not expected to come cheap. According to previous reports, the price can go up to $ 2,900, which is about 2.5 lakh rupees. It can also be a limited release at first, limited to China and South Korea. A broad global launch can follow later if the first-gene model does good. For now, the phone is rumored to be launched in October 2025.
