Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra suffers some damage but still survives drop test

One of the more under-the-radar changes with the Galaxy S26 Ultra coming from the S25 Ultra is the switch from a titanium frame to an aluminum frame, which naturally raises some durability questions. fortunately, PBKSReviews He delivered his signature drop test video to show how Samsung’s latest top-tier flagship performs.

In addition to the different frame material, the S26 Ultra has more rounded corners, and its camera island is more open than last year’s model. The new phone reuses the Corning Gorilla Armor 2 protection on its display and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back, just like last year’s model.

The first drop causes some visible damage to the left corner frame, but the screen remains intact. However, drop #2 manages to break the glass on the front of the phone’s 5x telephoto lens.

That lens glass is completely broken after the third drop, along with some additional scratches around the frame. In conclusion, the S26 Ultra performs slightly worse than the S25 Ultra in terms of drops, but it remains fully functional.

Along with the drop test, PBKreviews has also released its S26 Ultra teardown video, which gives us a look inside the phone.

The interior looks almost identical to last year’s model, which isn’t surprising. The separation process is largely the same as last year. Once we get to the motherboard, we can see that Samsung has used more thermal paste on the back to help with heat management.

We also get to see the redesigned vapor chamber of the S26 Ultra, which looks to be the same size as the S25 Ultra but with a slightly changed shape. Unsurprisingly, the S26 Ultra receives a 9/10 repairability rating, which is the exact same score as the S25 Ultra.
