Revolver Rita is the story of a young woman, Rita, who lives with her mother and two sisters in the quaint town of Pondicherry. After her father passed away when she was a child, she and her mother have been the breadwinners of the family and are carrying it forward.
As Rita and her family prepare to celebrate her niece’s birthday, things take a serious turn when a drunk gangster knocks on their door and enters their home. Amidst a wild confrontation and chaos, his mother, Chellamma, shoots and kills the gangster.
With party guests arriving soon, Rita and her family have to hide the body fearing for Chellamma’s safety. Meanwhile, the gangster’s son is also searching for his father, suspecting that a rival gang may be involved, leading to an all-out war between them.
How the entangled family manages to escape the dangers, while maintaining the comic tone of the story, forms the central plot of the film.
