Redmi has launched two new power-packed phones under the new Redmi Turbo 5 series in China. There are two models: Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi Turbo 5 Max. Both phones boast powerful features including big batteries and fast MediaTek chips. The Redmi Turbo 5 Max stands out with its massive 9,000mAh battery. It is also the first to come with the brand new Dimensity 9500s chip.
The Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi Turbo 5 Max are launching in China first, though if history is anything to go by, they may launch globally, including India, under a different name and perhaps Poco branding. Specs and features of Redmi Turbo 5 Max
The Redmi Turbo 5 Max features a 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3500 nits peak brightness. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chip paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The software is Xiaomi HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
There are two cameras in this phone. A 50-megapixel Light Fusion 600 sensor has been used in the primary. It is joined by another 8-megapixel sensor with an ultrawide lens. It has a 20-megapixel camera on the front for taking selfies.
The Turbo 5 Max packs a massive 9,000mAh battery which is the largest on any Redmi smartphone so far. Although it is not the largest overall. Realme has the P4 Power which has an even bigger 10,001mAh battery. Supports max 100W fast charging.
The phone has an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. It has been given IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.

The Redmi Turbo 5 on the other hand features a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3500 nits peak brightness. Powering the phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The software is Xiaomi HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
For photography, the Redmi Turbo 5 has two cameras: a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 sensor and an 8-megapixel ultrawide. The front camera is 20 megapixels.
Running the show is a 7560mAh with 100W fast charging.
Redmi Turbo 5 Max and Redmi Turbo 5 prices
The price of Redmi Turbo 5 Max starts at CNY 2499 (approximately Rs 33,000) for the variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Redmi Turbo 5 price starts at CNY 1999 (roughly Rs. 26,500) for 12GB/256GB. Both phones are currently exclusive to China, with no word on global availability and pricing. These can be launched in India under Poco branding.
