Aditya Roy Kapur and Samantha Prabhu are in the news for their upcoming big web series. Earlier the project was titled Raktbeej but now it has been officially announced as Rakt Brahmand – The Bloody Kingdom.
Producers Raj and DK made the official announcement on social media for the upcoming action fantasy series, announcing their collaboration with Rahi Anil Barve, Sita R Menon and Netflix.
Raj and DK announce their action fantasy series with Rakt Universe
Filmmaker duo Raj and DK shared the announcement poster of Rakt Universe – The Bloody Kingdom on X (formerly Twitter) on July 27 with the caption, “Filming is currently underway.” The caption read, “We have huge news that will make your blood boil! We are very excited to announce our first action-fantasy series.”
Excited fans flooded the reply section with tweets expressing their anticipation for the project. “Looks fascinating…. I have full faith in your product… especially when it will be on the best OTT Netflix,” tweeted a fan. “So much hope. Hopefully we get a GOT for India,” wrote another.
A fan of Raj and DK’s previous films commented, “I’m sure this one will be as great as all your other films. Best of luck”
Previously, Raj and DK have worked with Amazon Prime Video on series like The Family Man, Farzi and the upcoming Citadel: Honey Bunny. This is the first time they are collaborating with Netflix for a series.
Rahi Anil Barve who is known for the 2018 folk horror film Tumbbad will direct the project while Sita R Menon has come on board as a writer. Barve also shared the poster on X and wrote, “My third!”
On July 28, she shared another tweet about her three projects so far and her journey as a filmmaker. Barve, whose second project is Amazon Prime Video’s Gulkand Tales, wrote, “Almost two decades. Pitched these three projects together from 2007-9. One is finished. Another is ready for release. Third is starting. No doubt a tough struggle. But as mom used to say, all’s well that ends well! The impossible is also beautiful. 2025 will be a great year. – Raahi.”

Speaking to Variety, Raj and DK said that they aim to develop a fantasy world that is original as well as “reminiscent of the fantasy stories we heard in our childhood.” As per the buzz, apart from Aditya Roy Kapur and Samantha Prabhu, the series will also star Ali Fazal and Vamika Gabbi.
