With this, the film easily overtook the long-standing first day records of Sairat and Timepass 2, both of which had earned an estimated Rs 3.60 crore in their opening days.

The film’s strong opening has largely been driven by its Marathi version, which has seen a good take in both multiplexes and single screens in Maharashtra.

IndiaToday.in review king shivGee reads, “Raja Shivaji ultimately comes across as a film that is true to Shivaji’s heroism and story. Its scale, intent and spirit are right, but narrative precision is lacking. For those invested in Shivaji Maharaj’s story and legacy, it offers enough moments to stay connected.”
