Actor R Madhavan addressed the claims that he was ‘responding to young girls’ on social media. Speaking in an incident recently, he expressed his disappointment on how simple and compassionate reactions online for fans could often be interpreted.

It was once followed by a text from a fan on Instagram after Madhavan, where he praised his acting and included many heart emojis. When he replied with a humble thanks, the fan took a screenshot and shared it as a post. It had some internet users to believe that he was specifically responding to emoticons, making unnecessary speculation.

Talking about the same at the launch of an app, the actor said, “I am an actor. I have all these people messaging me on Instagram and social media. I will tell you a simple example. A young girl gives me a message. ‘I saw this film. I really loved it. I felt that you are a great actor. Very good. you inspire me. ‘And at the end, she puts a lot of hearts and kisses and love symbols. Now, when there is a fan who is talking to me this way, I am forced to answer. So I always say ‘Thank you very much. You are very kind. God bless you. ‘ This is my answer. What she does, she takes a screenshot of her answer and makes it a post on Instagram.
