Prabhas’ latest release, The Raja Saab, could not excite the audience much with its promotional assets, which is why it had a disappointing first weekend at the box office. The film could collect only Rs 20 crore. It earned Rs 114 crore in its extended opening weekend in India, making it Prabhas’ second lowest weekend opener after the Baahubali era.
The film, directed by Maruti, managed to surpass the first weekend collection of Radhe Shyam (Rs 89 crore) and moved to 7th position in Prabhas’ list of top first weekend openers at the Indian box office. The 2017 release Baahubali 2, directed by SS Rajamouli, is still the Telugu superstar’s biggest opener. For the record, Baahubali 2 made Rs. 355 crore in its opening weekend in India. After this, none of Prabhas’ films could cross the Rs 10 lakh mark. Earning Rs 250 crore in the first weekend.
However, the actor has four titles worth Rs. 200 crore to Rs. 250 crore window- Kalki 2898 AD, Salaar, Adipurish and Saaho. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film is currently Prabhas’ second biggest weekend opener, earning a total of Rs. 239 crores.
Although Salar did not perform well, he earned Rs. Earned Rs. 224 crores in its opening weekend. Directed by Prashanth Neel, it proved to be the third highest weekend opening for the Telugu actor.
