Pooja Hegde, who has recently held a discussion with her energetic tricks in the song ‘Kanima’ from the romantic-action film ‘Retro’, has clarified why she has not signed any Telugu films since 2022. He has also shared initial details about his upcoming Telugu project.

In an interview recently, Pooja opened the reasons behind her absence from Telugu cinema. “I wanted to try something new. I didn’t just want to take a project for it. I wanted to do something that offered a character, a story. I wanted to feel excited about the work. This is the main reason, and nothing,” he said.

He also revealed that he was contacted for Telugu films during this period. Dev actor said, “Whatever reason, I did not find it right to agree to those films.”

Saying that her current lineup includes interesting roles in both Tamil and Hindi films, she confirmed that she too would return to Telugu cinema this year.

Considering his upcoming Telugu film, he said with a laugh, “I feel like a child who has gone missing in the Telugu film industry. I have signed up for a Telugu film. The production process has not started yet. Once the dates have been closed, you will know what is about the film.”

Meanwhile, Pooja was last seen with Shahid Kapoor in ‘Dev’, and next time Varun Dhawan will share the screen space with ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishash Hona Hai’.

She is also gearing up for the release of a gangster action drama set ‘Retro’ in the 1980s, directed by Karthik Subberaj. The film, which is included in the lead roles, is scheduled to release on 1 May.
