Bhoot Bangla is reuniting the superhit actor-director duo of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan, a duo that has given some of the most iconic comedy entertainers of Hindi cinema. His films were not only successful at the box office upon release, but they have also enjoyed extraordinary recall value over the years.
From its title, casting and teaser, Bhoot Bangla appears to bear tonal and thematic similarities with another film from the same actor-director duo, Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Although there is no official IP connection, this familiarity may work in the film’s favor. The recent Bhool Bhulaiyaa sequel has performed strongly at the box office despite the presence of a different lead cast.
