Perplexity CEO says that his AI browser comet is very smart, you will not need to hire more people
Arvind Srinivas, CEO of Perplexity, believes that his comet AI browser is so productive that it can help companies to avoid hiring more people. The comate was recently built for free for all users.

Perplexity is carrying forward its comet AI browser as a possible alternative to Google Chrome. The browser comes with an AI assistant that can do any task based on the user’s signal. The AI firm is so confident in the comet that Perplexity CEO Arvind Srinivas believes that he can save companies from the need to hire more people.
Comet AI AI can do any work on the webpage or arrange tabs as per the signals given by the assistant user. Even it can do online shopping, book flights or provide summary on whatever is on the webpage.
Arvind Srinivas believes that comets will promote productivity, which can be done with equal resources. He told CNBC, “Instead of hiring another person in your team, you can simply use comets to complement all the tasks you are doing.”
According to the Perplexity Chief, the increase in productivity from the comet can be $ 10,000 per year for a person, a significant amount for any company. The theory behind this figure is that through the comet, a single worker will be able to complete more tasks in the same time period. “This is really about giving value and you are capable of handing over the tasks,” he said.
The comet was initially limited to the perplexity Max subscribers. The company made it free for all users after the comat weightlist crossed millions. Perplexity had already freed the comet in India’s days before making it accessible for all users globally.
AI can bring $ 5 trillion boost, says perplexity CEO
Arvind Srinivas believes that increasing productivity can have a huge impact globally. They estimate that the “Human Digital Knowledge Work” contributed to $ 25 trillion in the GDP (GDP). If comets and similar devices promote 20 percent of the productivity, Srinivas has predicted that it can add $ 5 trillion to the global GDP.
AI is becoming increasingly important in the workplace. IT sector companies like TCS and Accenture have closed thousands of employees amidst the rise of AI.
While Perplexity CEO has mentioned that comets may allow companies not to hire more people, they did not comment particularly on any job loss directly due to AI browser.
