‘Panchayat’ actor Asif Khan washed dishes at the hotel where Saif-Kareena got married
Actor Asif Khan, famous for his role in ‘Panchayat’, once worked at the Taj Hotel, where Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor got married, and was refused a photo op with them. He said he cried that night.
‘Panchayat’ actor Asif Khan, who played the role of Phulera’s groom, was working in the same hotel where Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan got married. He worked at the Taj Hotel and washed dishes during the big wedding. In a recent interview, he revealed that he was refused photos with the stars at that time, and this made him cry.
During a podcast with ABP Uncut, Asif Khan revealed that he was washing dishes at the Taj Hotel when Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor got married. When he asked to take a photo with the stars, he was not allowed. He confessed, “I cried that day because I couldn’t meet the actors despite being so close to them.”
However, this motivated her to work harder towards her goal. She also revealed that she was humiliated by a casting agent, with whom she had scheduled a meeting soon after the incident.
She said, “The manager of the firm told me… ‘Don’t take my feedback personally, I am giving you honest feedback. Neither your looks are attractive, nor your body is very good, why would anyone cast you’.”
After this, Asif Khan went back to Jaipur, honed his skills by doing theatre and then returned to Mumbai.
He started his journey in the entertainment industry as a casting director. Later he worked as a junior artist in films like Salman Khan’s ‘Ready’, Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Agneepath’, Akshay Kumar’s ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’. He played an important role in the ‘Panchayat’ series. He is also a part of ‘Mirzapur’.
