In a tragic accident, popular stuntman Raju died on the set of the upcoming film of Lok Ranjith and actor Arya. The accident occurred on 13 July while Raju was carrying out a car stunt. Tamil actor Vishal confirmed the news on social media platform X.
Vishal, who worked with Raju on several projects, expressed his deep grief over the loss. “It is difficult to digest the fact that stunt artist Raju passed away doing a car-topping sequence for Jammi @Arya_ofl and @beemji Ranjith’s film. This morning I have known Raju for so many years. He has performed such risky stunts in my films.
The actor also assured his support for Raju’s family. “My deepest condolences, and their soul can rest from peace. God can give his family more strength for their serious harm. Not only for this tweet, but I will definitely stay for their family’s future, from the same film industry and so many films.

Popular stunt choreographer Silva also shared his condolences for Raju on Instagram. He wrote in the caption, “Our great car jumping stunt artist, one of SM Raju, died today while doing car stunts. Our stunt union and Indian film industry will remember him (SIC),” he wrote in the caption.
So far, neither actor Arya nor director Pa Ranjith has issued an official statement regarding the incident.
Raju was famous in the Kollywood industry for his courageous stunt and was part of many films over the years. His work was appreciated by many actors and filmmakers, contributing to his reputation as a courageous and skilled stunt artist.
The said film is probably the sequel to the 2021 Tamil drama ‘Sarpatt Parabarai’. In 2026, theaters are expected to hit theaters for some time.
