Oppo has started teasing its next K-series phone for India. The company hasn’t revealed the name yet, but it’s highly likely to be called the Oppo K15, given that it will replace the Oppo K13 and the number 4 is considered a bad omen in China (so the Oppo K14 seems very unlikely, though we’ll have to wait and see for the official communication).

The K-series has produced several variants in the past. Oppo K13 was followed by Oppo K13x. There was also an Oppo K13 Turbo built specifically for gamers. Whether Oppo will take the same approach with the Oppo K15 (or whatever its next K-series phone is called) remains to be seen. What seems highly plausible at this point is that Oppo is set to launch at least one new phone, and it will be of the K-series.

Oppo K-series will soon get a new model in India

Oppo has teased the X, “Get ready for the next K. The new Oppo K series is coming soon.” A dedicated microsite on Flipkart that has gone live gives us the first glimpse of the upcoming Oppo K15. Apparently this has also confirmed that the phone will be sold on Flipkart.

The microsite shows a handset in motion, with a rear dual camera setup inside a pill-shaped camera module. The cameras are located next to the LED flash. On the design front, the smartphone appears to have a flat rear panel with rounded edges. But this initial teaser doesn’t really tell us anything about the exact look and feel of the product, though we expect Oppo to share more details closer to the launch. The launch date has also been kept secret. Then, we can expect the phone to launch in February, possibly in the next few weeks.

Oppo K15 will be the sequel to Oppo K13 coming from 2025. For those unaware, the K13 comes with a 6.7-inch full-HD AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,200 nits of peak brightness. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset and 7,000mAh battery. It was launched at a starting price of Rs 17,999 for the variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
