In short

  • Openai may soon launch a cheap chat ‘Go’ plan
  • This Go plan may include basic models and may not be advanced equipment
  • The GPT-5 rollout is expected to be launched soon as Openai CEO Sam Altman has teased it

The company behind Chatgpt is preparing a new membership plan called ‘Go’, possibly a new membership plan that can be easier on pockets than the current paid options. While there is no official term yet, the new plan can be announced around the time when Openai rolled its next Big AI model, GPT -5.

The first signal about this new plan came from a user named Tibor Bhaho on X (East), who shared a screenshot of the Chatgpt web app code. The image showed some references to ‘Go’ tier, suggesting that Openai could test it internal or plan to release it soon.

Right now, Openai offers two payments plans – a plus plan for regular users $ 20 (about Rs 1,750) per month and Pro Plan for Developers, priced at $ 200 per month. The new Go Plan is expected to be cheaper than Plus, which can help more users to reach service without paying high fees.

However, the accurate features included in the Go Plan are still not clear. This can provide access to new but mild versions of AI models such as O3 or O4-Mini-High. But it is also possible that Advanced Tools such as agent or openiI video AI Tool Sora will not be part of this low -priced option.

In addition to this upcoming subscription tier, Openai is also adding new features to the web version of Chatgpt. Some users have begun to notice a ‘favorite’ section and a ‘pin chat’ feature, which can make it easier to save and manage conversations. These characteristics, however, are not yet available to all and are part of limited tests.

GO Plan’s potential launch is associated with the expected release of GPT-5. Openai has been working on this next generation AI model for several months, although its rollout has been pushed back a few times due to security concerns. The GPT-5 is said to have better performance, logic ability and deep integration with devices such as Sora and Canvas.

Openai CEO Sam Altman recently confirmed that GPT-5 would be released soon. In a podcast chat with Theo Won, Altman shared a personal experience, where he used GPT -5 to answer a question, which he did not understand. He said that the model replied immediately and correctly, making him feel that AI had improved him. “It was a strange feeling,” Altman accepted.

The Go Plan, if launched, can serve as a middle ground for users who want more than the offered in the free version, but do not want to spend heavily on Plus or Pro. With increasing competition in AI space, a budget plan can also help Openai to attract more users by offering limited access to powerful equipment. He said, no confirmation has been made by the company. Since the information comes from the code-level leaks, there is always a chance that Openai can change its plans or scrap Go Tier completely. Therefore, for now, it is best to wait for an official announcement.
