Actor Nushrarat Bharucha recently shared his experiences of sexism and inequality in Bollywood. During an interview recently, Bharucha recalled opportunities where he had to request the use of a male co-star van because it was better and better than that.
In an interview with YouTuber Nayandeep Rakshit, 40 -year -old, “It has happened many times when I was asking,” Can I use the hero’s vanity van for 5 minutes? He is not here anyway. Can I use the washroom? ” Because they are better than me.
He also recalled at a time when he was placed in the economy class in an international flight, while the male lead enjoyed a comfortable journey in the business class. Despite being invited to join friends in business class, he chose to stay on his designated seat. He remembered that he was inspired by the belief that he would be booked in a business class on merit one day. This aspiration was eventually felt.
The ‘Chaudhary 2’ actor highlighted the ongoing struggle for gender equality in Bollywood. He said, “As soon as a man delivers a hit, whether it is an internal formula or outsider, he will get five new options immediately. But women have to struggle. I have been saying this since the time of ‘love of love’.”
“I am not saying that he has to become an overnight sensation or anything. What an actor once wants after his film is a hit? To get some options for potential future projects, from which he can choose. That’s it. They just need opportunities.
On the professional front, Bharucha recently portrayed the horror film ‘Chaudhary 2’. Directed by Vishal Furia, the film also included Soha Ali Khan and Gashmier Mahajani. It is available for streaming on Netflix.
