Apple’s much-awaited Glowtime event is set to take place on Monday and the buzz around it is heating up. While the iPhone 16 lineup is expected to steal the show, new leaks suggest that the event will also see the launch of the Apple Watch Series 10, which could also be called the Apple Watch X, along with other exciting products like the AirPods 4. Let’s find out what we can expect.

Apple Watch Series 10 – What to expect

According to reports from sources like 9to5Mac, Apple’s next-generation smartwatch, the Apple Watch Series 10, will come with a major upgrade in health-tracking technology. The watch will feature an advanced ECG sensor that can detect sleep apnea, a condition in which a person’s breathing repeatedly stops and starts during sleep. This capability has long been rumored, and it looks like it’s finally becoming a reality.

The new ECG sensor will reportedly deliver more accurate results, allowing the watch to monitor heart rate and detect potential symptoms of sleep apnea. Users who show symptoms of the condition will be recommended to consult a doctor. This will work similar to the current alerts for irregular heart rate or blood oxygen levels. Sleep apnea detection will be a key feature for not only the Apple Watch Series 10 but also the Apple Watch Ultra 3.

However, don’t expect this feature to be available right away. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that the feature will be announced at the event, but it could be rolled out later with a future software update for watchOS.

But that’s not all. The Apple Watch Series 10 is rumoured to come with improved water resistance, making it certified for high-speed water sports up to a depth of 20 metres. Currently, the Apple Watch Series 9 is water resistant up to 50 metres, but it’s not recommended for high-velocity water activities or submersion to greater depths. This upgrade will also give the Series 10 access to Apple’s Depth app, which tracks time, depth, and water temperature during underwater activities. Previously, this app was exclusive to the Apple Watch Ultra.

Another exciting feature is a potential increase in screen size. The Series 10 is expected to offer 44mm and 48mm display options, up from the 41mm and 45mm options on the Series 9. Along with this extra screen real estate, Apple is reportedly introducing new watch faces, including a “Reflection” face that reacts to ambient light, and a new Hermes “Regatta” face designed to make timers more convenient.

Other products on the horizon

Apart from the Apple Watch Series 10, rumours suggest that Apple may also unveil the AirPods 4 at the Glowtime event. While details about these next-gen earbuds are scarce, they are expected to feature improved sound quality and battery life.

The global event is shaping up to be one of Apple’s most exciting launches in recent years, with a mix of hardware and software updates across multiple product lines. At this event, we will get a first look at the new iPhone 16 series as well as an upgraded smartwatch and other surprises.

Those eager to see all the action should know how to watch the Apple Glowtime event, as it will be showcasing Apple’s latest innovations. Whether you’re an Apple fan or just curious about the latest in technology, this event is not to be missed!
