Actor Abhay Verma’s latest release ‘Munjya’ hit the big screens on June 7. The film did well at the box office (over Rs 4 crore), and Abhay was praised for his performance. The film also stars Sharvari Wagh and Mona Singh in pivotal roles. While talking to IndiaToday.in recently, Abhay said that he still can’t believe that he is a part of such a big film.

Speaking to us, the actor shared, “When I first came to the Maddock office, I really felt like I was a guy from Panipat walking into their office and these guys are actually giving me an opportunity that could be a game changer for me. They trusted me with a huge opportunity like Munjya even though I am someone who has very little experience of working on such a big project. I still haven’t fully digested it and I think I still need someone to really pinch me and make me realise that I am a part of such a big film, and the makers of this film are the ones who made Stree and changed the narrative of horror comedies. The trust that creators like Dinesh Vijan and Pooja Vijan have shown in me is beyond satisfaction for me.”

Abhay, who has been acting for the last 13 years, said that he never wanted to see himself as a particular kind of actor or label himself as someone who will only do a certain type of roles.

Abhay said, “I would definitely like to explore. As an actor, the kind of projects that I have done so far, whether it is playing a transgender in ‘Safed’, or being a part of ‘The Family Man’ with Manoj Bajpayee, or being a patriot in Aye Watan Mere Watan with Sara Ali Khan or now playing a shy, naive guy, all of these are very different roles from each other and I think that’s something that really excites me. I honestly don’t want to limit myself to any particular work because I think that’s the beauty of being an actor.”

A part of the Stree universe, Munjya is currently running in theatres.
