Mrunal Thakur has hit the big screen with her latest film Do Deewane Sehar Mein, which was released on February 20, 2026. As the actress is in the news for dating rumors with Dhanush, Mrunal reveals why the actor attended the premiere of Son of Sardaar 2.

Speaking to Mirchi Plus during the promotion of his new release, Mrunal Thakur said, “Dhanush sir… I mean, after watching Raayan, Maari, Raanjhanaa and Captain Miller, I am a huge fan of his. Oh my God, Asuran is something I can watch multiple times. He is such an institution, and it takes a lot for an actor to become like this and bring out such performances from other actors as well.”
“It so happened that when they were shooting for Tere Ishq Mein, I said, ‘Sir, can you please come for the screening of Son of Sardar?’ I didn’t know that he would actually come. He just arrived, and I was so happy. I thought it was really sweet. The actress said, I really want to work with him one day.
For those unaware, Mrunal Thakur and Dhanush are reportedly seeing each other. Although there were rumors that the two might soon get married, but the actress herself rejected these reports.
Mrunal Thakur and Dhanush’s workfront
Mrunal Thakur was recently seen in the lead role in Do Deewane Sehar Mein, alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi. This romantic drama tells the story of two socially awkward millennials in Mumbai who find love while struggling with self-acceptance. As they fight insecurities and social pressure, their journey takes them from the chaos of the city to the peace of the mountains.
Directed by Ravi Udayawar, the film also stars Ila Arun, Joy Sengupta, Ayesha Raza, Sandeepa Dhar, Deepraj Rana and Mona Ambegaonkar in lead roles.
Meanwhile, Dhanush will next be seen in the lead role in Kara, directed by Vignesh Raja. Along with Mamita Baiju in the co-lead role, the thriller also stars Karunas, Jayaram and Suraj Venjaramoodu in lead roles. It is expected that this film will be released by summer this year.
Additionally, the actor recently launched his next film, tentatively titled D55, co-starring Mammootty, Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela.
