Starring Unni Mukundan, Marco is the latest Malayalam film to hit the theaters ahead of Christmas. Released on December 20, this bloody action film stars Unni in the lead role who is on a mission to uncover the truth after an unexpected incident in the family. It has emerged as Mukundan’s biggest opener so far and further growth has been seen on the second day. According to the demand, the shows of the film are increasing.
Marco earned Rs 5 crore on the second day; to shine on christmas
Marco, directed by Hanif Adeni, took an opening of Rs 4.55 crore on the first day. The Unni Mukundan-starrer has collected around Rs 5 crore on the second day. The two-day gross collection of Marco is now around Rs 9.55 crore in India. It is expected to do well on Christmas amid stiff competition from other films running in theatres.
Marco will fight Mohanlal’s Barrows on Christmas
On Christmas Day, Marco faces off against Barrows: Guardian of Treasures. Starring Mohanlal, the epic children’s fantasy film will release on December 25. However, Marco need not worry too much as the audience is a bit skeptical about the Mohanlal-starrer at the moment and the word of mouth should be really good.
Meanwhile, other Malayalam movies that are performing well at the box office are Rifle Club and ED – Extra Decent. While Rifle Club has Vijayaraghavan and Anurag Kashyap, ED has Grace Antony, Sajin Cherukayil, Vineeth Thattil David.
Marco clashed with Upendra Rao starrer UI and Anil Sharma’s Vanvas at the Indian box office. It has been dubbed into Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi languages. The character of Marco is recreated from the 2019 film Mikhail, which also starred Unni Mukundan.

Before Marco, Unni Mukundan last worked in Garudan which released earlier this year. His other releases include Kadhikkan, Vikramadityan, KL 10 Paththu, 12th Man and Style.
