Malayalam actress Navya Nair recently caught all the eyeballs after imposing a fine of 1,980 (about Rs 1.14 lakh) at Melbourne International Airport to carry a Jasmine Gajra. It has been reported that he did not announce it to the Australian customs. Now in an interview, the acre revealed that it had asked the Australian Agriculture Department to be requested to waive the fine.

Talking to HT City from Singapore, Navaya Nair expressed that she was surprised at the fines, as it is a significant punishment. The actress revealed that she was not taking flowers in her bag, but it was in her hair. “So it was nothing hidden, but I did not declare it because I recalled it. Now, Navya has reached the Australian Agriculture Department through Mail and requested to waive the fine. Nair said he had 28 days to pay, and he was asked by the authorities to mail all these details to the Agriculture Department. He mails them the same night and now waiting for the answer.
“I have asked them to forgive the amount, and if they do not forgive, I have read in many articles that they charge $ 300, and they have charged AUD 1980, and this 6 units have been written, so I don’t know what it is. As a foreigner, as a foreigner, I had no idea,”.
Navaya Nair wishes that this issue has not become so big. He further claimed that this is the law of the country, and he would have to follow it and he has no other option. He further said that on humanitarian grounds, the officers could simply take flowers and keep them with him. They could let him go without any fine, because he had no intention. She also revealed that it took her a long time to go out of the airport to undergo this process and enter Melbourne, where she went to attend the ONAM ceremony organized by Malayali Association of Victoria.
