A case of sexual harassment has been registered against famous Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly. The complainant, a resident of Nerayamangalam, has alleged that Pauly sexually assaulted her in Dubai in November 2023 under the pretext of giving her a role in a film.

The case has been officially registered in Ernakulam, Kerala, where the actor and five others have been booked under non-bailable charges. According to police sources, there are a total of six accused, indicating a wider conspiracy.

The woman brought her complaint to the attention of the Special Investigation Team (SIT), a unit set up after the release of the Hema Committee report to address issues of sexual misconduct in the film industry. The SIT later informed the Onnukal police, following which a case was registered.

As the investigation progresses, the allegations against Nivin Pauly and the other accused are expected to have significant ramifications on both the legal and entertainment industry fronts. The case comes amid the ongoing controversy over the Hema Committee report.
