Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan has finally made his acting debut with Sidharth Malhotra’s film Maharaj. After facing initial difficulties, the film was finally released on OTT for the audience to watch and review. Apart from Junaid, this biographical crime drama also stars Jaideep Ahlawat in a key role.
While talking about the film during an interview, Khan also shared his experience of working with the Jaane Jaan actor.
Junaid Khan praises Maharaj co-star Jaideep Ahlawat
Junaid Khan, who made his Bollywood debut with the Netflix film Maharaj, said that actor Jaideep Ahlawat is a brilliant actor. Sharing his experience of working with the actor, Khan told Bollywood Hungama in an interview that he is probably one of the best in the industry today.
“He is fantastic. It was a great experience working with him when you are plotting scenes together… as characters, we are pitted against each other, but as actors, we always work together,” Khan said. He further added, “He has a tremendous insight into the character, how a scene should be played. So, it was fantastic.”
Junaid Khan reacts to his debut film being stopped
After the trailer of the film was released, a wing of Vishwa Hindu Parishad objected to its release and demanded a special screening before the film was opened to the public. The film went to court and was then banned.
However, on 21 June the Gujarat High Court lifted the stay order and Maharaj
The film finally released on the OTT platform. Sharing how he was feeling at that moment, the budding actor said that “it was a tough time.”
He further added that the entire team was very excited. However, they also had a lot of faith in the film and the people who had seen it. Since the team felt that the film had been handled very sensitively and it was just a matter of time, they got courage and hope.
Aamir Khan was among those who saw the film before its release and liked it. On the work front, Junaid is busy with another film backed by Aamir Khan Productions.
