Lara Dutta’s father, retired Air Force officer Wing Commander LK Dutta, died in Mumbai at the age of 84. The actress was seen participating in the funeral services, along with her husband Mahesh Bhupathi. During the funeral, the family came together to honor his memory. The reason behind his death has not yet been revealed, and the family has not made any public remarks about the loss.

1. Lara Dutta’s father, LK Dutta, was a respected wing commander in the Indian Air Force. He joined the National Defense Academy (NDA) at an early age and worked as a helicopter pilot.
2. During his tenure, he bravely participated in three wars in 1965, 1969 and 1971, showing his unwavering commitment to the nation.
3. Sadly, at the age of 41, he suffered a heart attack, which prepared him for life, ending his flight career. Despite not having traditional university education due to his early military route, he adapted to civil life with strength and dignity, raised his family and supported him through challenges.
4. He was also honored to serve as a personal pilot for former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Lara herself confirmed this in interviews, given how the relationship affected her depicting Indira Gandhi in the film Bell Bottom.
5. Dutta was married to Jennifer Dutta, which is of the Anglo-Indian dynasty. Lara has talked about growing up in a multicultural house, with her father Punjabi and her mother Anglo-Indian. The family settled in Bengaluru, where Lara completed her schooling.

On the work front, Lara Dutta is ready for his role in the much-awaited film Welcome to the Jungle. The project marks his reunion with Akshay Kumar after his final collaboration at the 2021 thriller Bell Bottom. Directed by Ahmed Khan, the film has a star-staded dress artist.
