King Charles and Prince William had a falling out over the use of helicopters for Kate Middleton and the kids; claims made in new book

Royal father-son duo, Prince William and King Charles, were reportedly involved in serious discussions over the safety of flying in the royal family’s helicopter, a new book claims.

According to a soon-to-be-released biography of Robert Jobson, Catherine, Princess of WalesThe king expressed concern to William over the use of helicopters while accompanying his wife Kate Middleton and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, leading to a tense row between the two.

According to The Daily Mail, in an excerpt from Jobson’s book, King Charles referred to the safety and morality of the family following his cancer diagnosis and ongoing treatment, which was announced in February 2024. In addition, Charles has also presented veteran pilot William with a formal document “talking about the risks and taking full responsibility for his actions,” the upcoming book claims.

Why was King Charles so worried about Prince William?

King Charles’ concerns mirror those of his late mother, Queen Elizabeth, who previously requested that William not travel by helicopter with his family from Kensington Palace to their former residence, Anmer Hall in Norfolk, a 115-mile trip, according to Robert Robson.

Robson claimed in a recent article published by People that Queen Elizabeth did not hold back from expressing her opinions even after the 1967 helicopter crash that killed her flight captain.

In addition, it appears the palace has evaluated the risk of the family flying together and compared it with the option of providing separate travel arrangements for members of the Prince and Princess of Wales’ family.

Kate Middleton allegedly stayed neutral during father-son feud, book claims

Elsewhere in the upcoming book, Kate Middleton, who has been undergoing treatment since her cancer diagnosis earlier this year, is praised for being a “stabilizing influence” on her husband Prince William, particularly when it came to issues between him and his father.

A source told Jobson that Kate is “someone who always tries to see both sides of any dispute” and is “emotionally mature” in her relationship. Plus, as a father-in-law, even the King acknowledges Middleton’s positive influence on his son.

“I think (the king) understands that Catherine is a good influence on the whole family. He loves and appreciates everything she does,” one courtier said.

Meanwhile, Catherine, The Princess of Wales will be available to buy once it’s released on August 6, 2024.
