Where to watch Dulquer Salmaan’s Kantha on OTT?
Kantha, starring Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role, is set to stream on Netflix. The official announcement was made during Netflix’s Pandigai lineup earlier this year.
Sharing the update, the platform wrote, “Two actors. A feud. A lesson they’ll never forget. Kantha is coming to Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi after its theatrical release!”

Reportedly, the film is expected to start streaming on the platform in mid-December 2025. However, official confirmation is still awaited.
Kantha official trailer and plot
Kantha is the story of 1950s Madras superstar TK Mahadevan, widely known for his exceptional acting skills and undeniable charm on screen. However, he has a long standing dispute with his former mentor and filmmaker Ayya.
Ayya’s dream project, Shantha, was shelved years ago due to ego clashes with Mahadevan. Now, the filmmaker has got the opportunity to revive the project once again with his former protégé and a newcomer Kumari as the co-lead.
However, once Mahadevan joins the film, he hijacks the project, changing it from a heroine-oriented story to a film that better suits his superstar image, even changing the title to Kantha.
As ego-filled rivalries escalate, a crew member dies on set, turning the filming location into a crime scene. What happens to Mahadevan and Ayya’s strained relationship, and who is responsible for the death of a crew member, forms the central story of the film.

Kantha stars Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role along with Samuthirakani, Bhagyashree Borse, Rana Daggubati and others. The cast also includes Ravindra Vijay, Nizhalgal Ravi, Bhagavathi Perumal, Gayatri Shankar, Vaiyapuri, Radin Kingsley, Ajay Ghosh and many others in important roles.
Directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, the film is written by him and Tamizh Prabha. Kantha is produced by Rana Daggubati, Dulquer Salmaan, Prashant Potluri and Jom Varghese under the banners of Spirit Media and Wayfarer Films.
The soundtrack is composed by Jhanu Chanthar, while Jake Bejoy scored the background music. The cinematography is directed by Dani Sanchez-Lopez, with Anthony serving as editor.
