BTS rapper Suga fined $11,000 for drunk driving: Report
BTS rapper Min Yoongi, also known by his stage name Suga, has been fined US$11,000 for allegedly drinking and driving. His license has also been cancelled.
BTS rapper Suga aka Min Yoongi has been fined more than $11,000 for drunk driving, according to reports. The artiste was charged last month after he fell off his scooter while intoxicated.
According to reports at the time, Suga’s blood and alcohol level was 0.227 percent, exceeding the limit of 0.08 percent, local media reported.
A Seoul district court imposed the fine last week.
Later, Suga issued an apology in which he mentioned that he had ‘forgotten’ that people were prohibited from driving electric scooters while intoxicated.
“Although no one was harmed and no property was damaged, this is entirely my responsibility without any excuse. I apologize to those who were hurt by my carelessness and wrong behavior, and I make sure that I will ensure that this does not happen again in the future.” the rapper said in a statement.
Following the reports, Suga received backlash about it, with many Internet users demanding that he leave the K-pop group.
Suga is currently completing his mandatory military service as a social service agent.
