Kalamkaval, starring Mammootty and Vinayakan in the lead roles, was released in theaters on December 5, 2025. After completing its theatrical run, the film is now all set to hit the digital platform. Here are the streaming details.
When and where to watch Kalamkaval
Kalamkaval is going to be released on OTT platform SonyLIV. The film will start streaming online from January 16, 2026. The official announcement was made by the makers through their social media handles.
Sharing the update, the OTT platform wrote, “Get ready to watch the classic blockbuster of 2025. Kalamkaval will be streaming on SonyLIV from 16th January.”

Official Trailer and Storyline of Kalamkaval
Kalamkaval is set in the early 2000s and tells the story of a group of police officers assigned to investigate a missing person’s case in a border village between Kerala and Tamil Nadu. As the Special Investigation Team arrives, conflict between communities and public unrest arising from allegations of elopement of the victim create a tense environment for the police.
The situation changed drastically when the police team led by SI Jayakrishnan started noticing a recurring pattern. Over time, they discover that several women, divorced, widowed or single, have disappeared, with clues pointing to a single man.
Realizing that the missing person’s case is only the tip of the iceberg, Jayakrishnan and his team embark on a cat-and-mouse chase against the prime suspect, Stanley Das. Do they succeed in capturing him or does he manage to escape justice, forms the crux of the story.

Kalamkaval stars Mammootty and Vinayakan in lead roles. The film also stars Gibin Gopinath, Gayatri Arun, Rajisha Vijayan, Shruti Ramachandran, Azis Nedumangad, Kunchan, Biju Pappan, Malavika Menon and many others in important roles.
Debutant Jitin K. Directed by Jose, the film is written by him along with Jishnu Sreekumar. It is produced by Mammootty under the banner of Mammootty Company. The music and background score is composed by Mujeeb Majeed.
The cinematography is by Faisal Ali, while the editing is by Praveen Prabhakar.
